Jobless man arrested over unpaid dept – see photos

Takafumi Arima, 26 and jobless, moved into the taxicab in Yokohama, south of Tokyo, late Saturday and advised the driver to go to Matsuyama on the island of Shikoku in southwestern Japan, a Matsuyama cop told AFP. Japanese man was captured for purportedly stiffing a cab driver in the wake of having guaranteed to pay when setting out on a 850-kilometer (528-mile) venture, police said Monday. Arima had supposedly said he would pay the charge upon landing and the driver trusted him, the officer included. However, in the wake of driving overnight for over nine hours, the passage meter came to 270,000 yen ($2,600) and Arima admitted that he had no cash, the officer said. "The driver then called police, which prompted Arima's capture," the officer said, including his thought process of the street outing was obscure and was to be examined.
