Ibadan:Man robbed ATM – see photos

 
Fifty-four-year-old Emmanuel Oti, who professedly endeavored to cheat an original bank in Ibadan of N7.1 million with an ATM card, is standing trial before an Iyaganku Chief Magistrates' Court. Oti, an occupant of Gbwom, Jos, was summoned for endeavor to confer fraud.The denounced and a man still everywhere purportedly plotted to submit the offense on August 15 at 4.00 p.m. at a branch of Union Bank at the University College Hospital, Ibadan.

Prosecutor Sunday Ojeleye told the court that the denounced and his accessory went to the bank to interest for an Automated Teller Machine card.He said, "It was found by a bank authority that the record for which Oti was asking for ATM card has a place with another client of the bank."The account proprietor (name withheld) had in his record about N7.1 million."The bank official found that the photo and mark of the record proprietor were not quite the same as Oti's.''

He said Oti asked for the ATM card to empower to him to have admittance to the record and pull back all the cash in it.He said, "The authority cautioned bank's security monitors, who captured him and gave over to the police."The offense negated Section 422 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Oyo State 2000.The charged, if indicted, might be sentenced to seven years detainment as indicated by the Criminal Code.Chief Magistrate Abdulateef Adebisi conceded the blamed safeguard in the whole for N200, 000 with two sureties in like sum.Adebisi said one of the sureties must be a blood connection of the denounced and deferred the case to September 21 for hearing.
